Psalm 30:8-12 (NLT)
I cried out to you, O Lord. I begged the Lord for mercy, saying, “What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness? Hear me, Lord, and have mercy on me. Help me, O Lord.” You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!

In this Psalm, King David reveals some bold bargaining he did with God at a time when God had turned His face from him (read the entire Psalm). He first appealed for mercy, meaning he admitted his guilt and pleaded to not receive what he deserved. Then he reasoned with the Almighty, “What good can a dead me do for You? My dust cannot praise You!” God then gave him in abundance what he did not deserve.
God is eager for you to “strike your bold bargain” with Him through a brave prayer like this as well, and when you do, He will turn your doldrums into dancing, and your mourning into praise.
Pray like this: Father God, like the Psalmist David, I ask for Your mercy, and in response to Your blessing I will give witness to everything You do with me. I ask you in the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
