Betrayal

Betrayal

Mark 14:29-31 (NLT)

Peter said to him, “Even if everyone else deserts you, I never will.” Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, Peter—this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny three times that you even know me.” “No!” Peter declared emphatically. “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the others vowed the same.

On the worst day of Jesus’ life, Peter ended up denying Him. It was a horrible act of betrayal. But we can easily do the same thing, not only by openly rejecting him, but by keeping quiet and not declaring our trust in Jesus to others.

However, as He did with Peter, so He will always do with you. He will give you an opportunity to be reconciled with Him, because His grace is greater than your sins. Take advantage of it now!

You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I recognize that I have not always walked by Your side, nor have I declared my faith in You. I ask for Your forgiveness, Your help, Your guidance, and Your mercy and Your favor. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
