2 Samuel 5:19
So David asked the Lord, “Should I go out to fight the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?” The Lord replied to David, “Yes, go ahead. I will certainly hand them over to you.”

David was a great warrior, unafraid to take on monumental battles against vicious foes who sought only his destruction. Even though he had extraordinary prowess in a war zone, day in and day out he consulted God for guidance with great humility and obedience.
Every day, you have “battles” you must face also. They may be decisions, problems or difficulties of lesser magnitude, but they are just as important to you and no less important to God. Make David’s habit yours. Never make a choice without consulting with the Lord. Don’t go problem-solving without first asking the Lord’s guidance. Don’t even meet up with another person before checking in with God. That way you, too, will see everything that God wants to deliver into your hand.
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, thank You for Your Word which I am going to treasure in my heart. Before I “go into battle,” I am coming to You to seek Your counsel and to know Your will, because I trust You in everything. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
