Psalm 11 (NLT)
I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me,
“Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety!”
“The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right.”
“The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?”
But the Lord is in his holy Temple; the Lord still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth. The Lord examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence. He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds. For the righteous Lord loves justice. The virtuous will see his face.

This Psalm was King David’s response to people who were feeding him “fake news” about what was going on in and around the kingdom––news heavily contaminated with opinion that began to circulate when eternal values had been lost and God’s commandments distorted.
His reply was concise and firm––a very fitting reminder for us in our world today. God never disregards what is happening on earth and His will always ends up being fulfilled. His blessing always comes to the righteous and those who corrupt always end badly.
Wait on God and you will never be disappointed. Trust Him because His reward always comes. Hold your course. Don’t be distracted. The best is still ahead.
Pray like this: Father, I know that nothing escapes Your eyes. Help me to trust confidently in You like David did, and to wait for Your blessing. I ask this in the Name of Jesus, Amen!
