Matthew 6:22-23 (NLT)
“Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!”

Jesus said that the eye is the lens that gives your body the light it needs. When it’s not healthy, it’s like driving around in dense ground fog with your windshield fogged over. Everything is blurry at best, and moving about at normal speed could be deadly.
When the rest of your body thinks that that is all the light that is available, you are unable to make adequate decisions or see difficulties coming down the road.
But there is a remedy. Psalm 18:28 says, “You, O Lord, light my lamp; my God lights up my darkness.” His Word is a lamp and light (see Psalm 119:105). If you turn to Him, His presence in you will keep your windshield defogged on the inside, and His Word will lead you out of the ground fog on the outside. You will be secure in your ways and will help others find the right path.
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I need You to illumine my spiritual eyes so that I can see everything I need to see, make the best decisions, and help others find their way in this foggy world. I ask it in the Name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
