A Time for Eternity

A Time for Eternity

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 (NLT)

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.

King Solomon, who defines himself as “The Preacher,” leaves us this wonderful passage about time and its importance in our lives. Time is perhaps the most valuable thing we have in life. But it is also true that life is the most valuable element in time, because what is the one without the other?

You have to make good use of time! Caring about things that really matter—sowing peace, showing love, giving hope, lifting faith, spreading blessing—all this goes straight to your heavenly account! Without neglecting your material needs, devote time to the transcending spiritual things that last forever.

Pray this way: Father God, thank You for Your life and for the precious time to enjoy it. Give me wisdom today to invest in those things that are lasting—in the eternal—without neglecting the perishable. I ask it in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
