Luke 5:37-39 (NLT)
“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine must be stored in new wineskins. But no one who drinks the old wine seems to want the new wine. ‘The old is just fine,’ they say.”

Today we are living in a times of tremendous change—in education, marketing, media, communication, in space, health care and the military—and the list goes on. One thing is for sure: there is no way back.
When Jesus breaks through into your life, dramatic changes also occur. An old season ends and a new one begins. These changes are much more profound than those taking place in the world around you because they happen in your inner man. They alter your way of thinking, speaking, acting and reacting. God is filling you with the “new wine”—a new nature empowered by the Holy Spirit replete with divine creativity to lead in the changing world about you. It comes with wisdom that will guide you and supernatural strength to propel you until you reach your final objectives.
Don’t try to fit the “new wine” in the “old wineskin.” Honor the honorable things from your past like old wine, but understand that the new wine must be put into a new wineskin. Let God recreate your behavioral structures and thought patterns completely to receive every drop of the new wine that is coming your way. (see Romans 12:1-2)
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I thank You for every good thing You have given me in the past, but call on You now to renew me by the transforming of my mind so that I can receive every drop of the “new wine” You want to pour into my life. I ask it in the Name of Jesus with thanksgiving, Amen!
