As the Field Ministries Team look ahead to the coming months, it is clear the opportunities to go back into schools or to facilitate residential retreats and camps are once again possible. We’re excited about the gifts that Joe will bring to the table as we continue to (1) Develope new resources, (2) Facilitate retreats/camps, and (3) Explore new opportunities for the future.

New Chairperson for SU Ireland

Welcome Alison Gill

We are excited to announce that Alison Gill has been appointed as the new chairperson of Scripture Union Ireland. Alison has been a long-term volunteer and supporter of our ministries. She has served as the leader of Greystones CSSM for the past 11 years, working alongside countless volunteers, as well as being an integral member of the Scripture Union Council. Having been involved in so many aspects of our work, we are delighted to have someone at the helm who is fully committed to and passionate about the vision of our organisation. We are extremely hopeful for what the future holds as she supports the leadership team, wider team and ministry of SU Ireland. Please remember her in your prayers.

__________

We also want to offer our thanks to Dirk Van Der Flier who has served as our chairperson for the past 13 years. His leadership and work behind-the-scenes has been greatly valued. We look forward to his on-going involvement in our work and ministry in the years to come.

Tackling the big faith questions

The NUA Film Series is Scripture Union Ireland’s first film series, launched in 2017 and ideal for non-examined religious education classes, youth groups & Universities. NUA is a film series that encourages questions, acknowledges doubt, and offers an engaging perspective on the Christian faith. These are films to engage with, discuss, and pick apart. More than anything, NUA is a fresh learning experience. This original series is hosted solo by Jonny Somerville. Each episode is approx 15 minutes long which explores topics like God and Story, faith and science, the problem of evil and suffering, the history of the church, along with a historical investigation into the person and message of Jesus.
